Sabado Boys

I caught a show of Pia Hontiveros yesterday afternoon at the ANC channel featuring the "Sabado Boys", namely Paolo Santos, Top Suzara, Jimmy Bondoc, Mike Chan, Luke Mejares, and DJ Myke. "Sabado Boys" is actually a TV show at channel 9. As they have described it...music, talk, and comedy are the staple fare of the show hosted by these cool and talented dudes. I had the chance of seeing it once and I can attest to how they've described it!

During Pia's show, I've noticed how naturally "KALOG" they are. Popping jokes most of the time, led by Jimmy and Mike Chan, made me laugh out loud! It seemed so ironic because most of the songs that they performed were so "makabag-damdamin" like "I'll still be loving you" and "How deep is your love". Their version was awesome! They are actually included in the new album that they were promoting entitled "Saitai" -- meaning "ensayo tayo".

Since Jimmy, Paolo, Top and Luke are my favorite artists, I already bought a copy of the album just this afternoon. It's so great! Most of the songs are included in my "sentimental classics collection"...haha!

The songs included are -- I just can't let go, I'll still be loving you, So close, Sharing the night together, Time will reveal, We'll never have to say goodbye, Sweet baby, Baby come back, Stay awake, Someone, Alright, Four seasons of loneliness, Sana dalawa ang puso ko (EWAN KO BA KUNG BA'T NASAMA TO?!?), How deep is your love, Kyrie Eleison, and most of all...

Pictures. More Pictures

Tried out wifey's 50 mm lens today and... boy!... I did enjoy using it. It doesn't have the ability to zoom in or out but it was perfect for capturing portraits. The apperture setting that I used most the time was f1.8.

A Sunday Morning at UP

It was around 5:30 AM, sunday morning... Just woke up early from a very restful sleep. Thinking of getting some exercise, I then cleaned and packed up my gear and then wifey and I headed for UP. We had the chance to spend time together and enjoyed doing our hobby as well. It was so much fun walking around and taking pictures within the cool, green and quiet streets of the university, though with so many joggers. ΓΌ

My New Hobby - Blogging and Photography

Hi peeps!

I've been wanting to do this for a long time now... blogging and photography. Perhaps time and resources were the reasons that kept me from doing so. Until today, when The BIG G has paved the way for me. Finally, I'm now able to do what interests me!

It all started last wednesday when a good friend of ours (Me and Wifey's), Rachel, sold her camera -- a Canon 400D EOS, to us... if I may say... for a very generous price! The set of equipment include lenses (kit lens and Sigma), batteries (with a battery grip pack), battery charger, THE WORKS!! It was an awesome deal... our deepest thanks Rache! May God continue to bless you, oli and the kids more!

My fondness in photography started when wifey showed me and shared her passion with the hobby. She captured images using our first digital camera -- a Canon Powershot A60. It was a simple point and shoot system. The pictures captured were impressive but it seemed like some details were missing. We then decided to upgrade our camera, not to mention that the A60 was already malfunctioning during that time. Thus, we bought a Canon S3 IS that has the features of a novice... just right to learn the basics. It has an AV and Manual setting from which I've learned how to set the "apperture" and "shutter speed" controls. This is the time when I got so enticed with photography because the images captured were so "life-like". I then indulge myself to taking pictures more often. I was already contented with the features of the S3 but then wifey was thinking of another upgrade because she still can't get enough of it!!!

Came last December, wifey bought The Rebel-The Canon 400D EOS as a Christmas gift for herself. It was the ultimate thing! Pictures captured were so outstanding! We were having a blast during the Christmas season, reunions here and there, photo opportunity everytime. We were the "official photographers" of the clan, haha! Then a thought came to me... that someday I'll also get myself a 400D.

Then that thought came to reality last March 5... when I got my very own 400D!

Here are some of my practice shots.
